New Sewing Pattern Acquisitions

I have been living in the UK for a year now and before I moved I used to post regularly about new vintage related acquisitions. I haven't done so in quite a while now so I figured it was high time I would share a selection of favorite sewing patterns that I purchased in the past year. The first three sewing patterns where at the top of my (realistic) wishlist and I even managed to get them for very reasonable prices!

I'm sure you've all seen this pattern before, Simplicity 3322. It is highly sought after and usually very expensive. I spotted this pattern the first minute it was listed and it has been gnawed at by rats or mice which I think put people off from buying it instantly. But I asked the seller exactly in what condition the pattern pieces where and she actually photographed them for me! Only 5 of the of 15 pieces are damaged and even then, the damage is very minimal and all the pieces are still perfectly usable. Right now you can buy this pattern on Etsy for $125 (£80) (which is, by the way, EXTREMELY overpriced)... including shipping, I paid £12 ($20).

Simplicity 3322 From c. 1940

Simplicity 3475 From 1940

Simplicity 3884 From c. 1943. Unfortunately very damaged and missing waistband, short sleeve and cuff, so still looking for a better one.

Butterick 3115

Advance 2516

Simplicity 3367 From 1940

DuBarry 5458 From 1942

Economy Design No. 148

Simplicity 3962 From 1941

So readers, I am curious: What is that one special sewing or knitting pattern that you have been chasing?

  1. Those are some grand patterns! I bet it will be hard to decide which to start first. I've been chasing an early 1940s maxi skirt with wrap top pattern. Haven't found it yet.

  3. I have always wanted to own the first pattern as well. It's so cool how cheap you managed to get it. Are you planning to make the overalls?
